  • alangr46, the person who posted this video has made a small error in his descriptive text. He says, "...which he directed the war against US troops".

The error is that Australia deployed it's military to Vietnam before the US and left Vietnam after the US gave up on it. Also fighting in Vietnam were troops from New Zealand, Laos, South Korea and the Phillipines.

That war should correctly be called "The war in Vietnam". USA was a major player, but not the only one.

the chinese attacked vietnam after the americans left... the khmer rouge government attacked vietnam as well. I think it was arouns 1979 or so for the chinese, and the KR around 1977.

  • While in Vietnam, I have spoken to former VietCong and N.V.A.

They hold a high regard to Australian soldiers.

  • A small bit of side trivia... in the first Gulf War to liberate Kuwait, the first troops on Iraqi soil were the Australian S.A.S., and, the first shots fired came from the Australian Navy.
