on what levels? what catholic theology did it contain? I am curious...not doubting it, just wondering... i never actually saw that film. i agree that the reason He suffered and died is of utmost importance. however, i don't think it is a bad thing to be aware of the depths of Jesus' sufferings...it shows us to what lengths he was willing to go to redeem us!
The Scriptures are completely void of the gory details. Our Lord would have us think more upon the reason He suffered and died. It was for our hope and salvation. I did not like the Passion of the Christ. It wasn't true to Scripture on many levels... full of catholic myths, etc.
I love how this song brings theological truths into simple terms that don't make me dizzy when I think of the depth of God's love. It's so simple and beautiful. God sent his son to suffer and die, and finally to rise again, so that I would live. Wow. Is there a more undeserved gift than God's grace and mercy? It blows me away how God is willing to give it to me anyway! This song is such a great reminder!!
There is none other any sweeter than my beloved Jesus... Nao ha outro mais doce do que o meu amado Jesus... No hay otro mas dulce que mi querido Jesus... Il n'y a pas un autre plus doux que mon bien aime Jesus...
Praise God the Father for sending His only Son, Jesus, from heaven to earth not only to take the punishment for our sins on the cross that we deserve, but also clothing us with the free gift of Christ's perfect righteousness that Jesus has earned and merited for us by keeping the law perfectly (without sin) as our Substitute so that we are declared forever righteous in Christ before God and no longer in condemnation for the guilt of all our sins.
He was with the Father in the Beginning. ( John 1:1) Did not he, the Word become flesh? John 1:14 And is he not the Firstborn of all Creation? (Colossians 1:15) And Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I AM" John 8:58 and also "He is not God of the dead, but of the living" Matthew 22:32
He is our bridegroom, our Passover Lamb, and as the Centurian said in Matthew 27:43 "truly this was the Son of God!" And He is risen!!! Just a thought...

Soli Deo Gloria! (To God alone be the Glory!)
And is he not the Firstborn of all Creation? (Colossians 1:15)
And Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I AM" John 8:58 and also "He is not God of the dead, but of the living" Matthew 22:32
He is our bridegroom, our Passover Lamb, and as the Centurian said in Matthew 27:43 "truly this was the Son of God!"
And He is risen!!!
Just a thought...
