Arunachala Shiva is a profound homage to the spiritual greatness of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi who is one of India's most well-known Sages. Included in this book is his famous text, Who Am I? (Nan Yar) in which he declares that Self-enquiry is the most direct route to Self-realisation.

Arunachala Shiva paints an intimate picture of Sri Ramana's life, taking us behind the scenes to moments with his closest disciples. The shocking yet compelling commentaries offer new and unexpected insights into his teachings, challenging entrenched ideas and assisting a final realisation.
-Your own Self-realisation is the greatest service
you can offer to the world. Sri Ramana Maharshi-
David Godman has lived at Arunachala for thirty years, becoming an authority on Sri Ramana Maharshi. He is the author of many books on Sri Ramana and his close
disciples, most notably Be As You Are.
James Swartz an American Vedanta teacher and author, visits Arunachala every year. His latest book, How to
Attain Enlightenment, highlights the Vedanta approach to liberation.
Premananda is an English spiritual teacher with twenty years experience of Self-enquiry. He has held an annual
retreat at Arunachala for the last ten years. He is the author of several books including Blueprints for Awakening.
Ramana Maharshi:
Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, the Sage of Arunachala, born in 1878, is one of the most famous and most recent of India's wealth of sages, Saints and spiritual Masters.
As a young man of sixteen he had a spontaneous awakening. He left his home in Madurai and made his way to Tiruvannamalai and the holy mountain, Arunachala. He lived for many years, alone and in silence, on and around the mountain, which he never left. In the 1920s the present ashram was constructed. Here he lived and taught until his death in 1950.
Many of this Maha Rishi's (Great Seer) students and devotees, who, through him gained Self-realisation, passed on to their own students Sri Ramana Maharshi's practice of Self-enquiry, using the question, 'Who am I?'

  • The chants were the same as the ones I chanted when I was in an Ashram. Thank you so much for this video! I plan to get the full length film.

  • Sri Bhagavan had NO disciples.............PAPAJI? Direct Disciple? He was a visitor to the Ashram just like thousands of others who was influenced then went out and held satsang for money.....My goodness, when will people realize how fake these people were? There is only 1 guru, in the Heart.....It is called by many names...I would like to see all these so-called ''Realized'' Satsang freaks go live like Annamalai Swami alone for almost 50 years.....real Sadhus dont charge or right books!!!

  • Very profound insights into the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi. This film is a treasure!

  • I am so touched by the life story of Ramana Maharshi. This video is great, it really tells new things about his life and his teachings.
