More appropriately titled "How I Beat QWOP". This is a video of me beating the internet game QWOP with some commentary.

1.) Yes, this was all one run.
2.) I know I say "at this point" a lot in the video.
3.) I know the point of the game is to actually run like a real runner, but screw that. It's way too hard. Try it yourself if you don't believe me.

**** NOTE ****
I know there is a discrepancy in the video. Somewhere around 22 meters, the Best Run distance in the corner goes from 100m to 6m. I promise, I didn't cheat in this video. Here's what happened:

I was messing around on Qwop and usually didn't get past a few meters. When I started doing what you see in the video, I made it to about 22 meters before I realized I might make it all the way. That's when I decided to capture it on video. I stopped what I was doing, grabbed my iPhone, set it up to record, and started recording. I recorded myself all the way to the end. Up until that point my best had been 6 meters. That is why you see 6m as the Best run from 22m until the end.

However, since I made it to the end, but hadn't recorded the beginning, I left my phone recording and immediately recorded myself doing the same technique through the first 25 meters, which is why the first 22 meters of the video show my best run as 100.1 meters: that's how far I had just made it.

So, when I say this was all one run, that's a sort of half truth, but true none-the-less. Its one run of two attempts: the completion of the first and the immediate beginning of a second, but spliced into the video in the opposite order.

Thanks to everyone who has watched the video! Also, a BIG thanks to everyone who has provided tips on how to make Qwop run properly! Maybe one day, I'll be able to do so!

The background music is the instrumental version of "Revolition" by Lifeless Blessed, my solo metal band project. To hear it, the full version, or any of the Lifeless Blessed stuff check out http://soundcloud.com/lifeless-blessed/sets

  • lol i like the hardcore rock music in the backround

  • @magitian20 That's actually an instrumental version of the last song on the metal e.p. I wrote/recorded/released by myself some time ago.

  • if you look away from the video it sounds like a miraculous story of a crippled boy who got lost and made his way back home

  • @whm3d I'd watch that movie… DIBS ON THE COPYRIGHT! lol

  • you recorded the screen. wow.

  • @jimgrude It's all I could do at the time. Didn't want to risk installing any screen capture software or running any programs or anything. I was too excited at not having failed yet. ^_^
