Kat's POV

I ran inside chemistry when the first bell rang of the day.My freinds were trying to chase me down to help them with the chistmas decorations for the Holiday Ball at my school.I really didnt feel like helping them because all they do is gossip about people and I dont wanna hear it.
I sat down in my seat and took out my homework from last night.
"Dammit!"I said to myself.I hadnt finshed the last four questions on the worksheet.Oh well i didnt care I had an A in chemistry so not finishing one homework assigment wasnt gonna hurt nothing.
"Can I sit here?"Someone asked.I looked up and saw Kurt Cookman.He has had a crush on me since fifth grade and flirts with me all the time.He is cute,basketball player,but honestly he really isnt my type.He one of those guys who can get a girl by winking at them,but he lets it go to his head.
"Sure"I said.
"So you know Ms.Tubman is gonna give us a project today?"Kurt said leaning on the table with his elbows.
"What the hell man we just turned in a project two weeks ago and we alredy got another one?"I complained.
Kurt just nodded.Then that Nick Jonas kid walked by us,he had his head down with a hoodie on.
"Hey looser!"Kurt said.He tripped Nick and made him drop his binder,all his papers fell out everywhere and people laughed.
"Kurt what the hell did you do that for?"I said to him smacking his arm.
"That kid is a pussy loser who doesnt deserve to exist!"Kurt laughed.Nick just got his stuff and sat at the table behind us.
"Okay class settle down"Ms.Tubman said.She clapped her then hands together.
"OKay today as some of you may now,you are getting a project."She said.
"oh maaan"some of the students groaned.
"Now class this is worth 75% of your grade and for some of you thats gonna help out alot!"
"This is also a paretner project....but i will assign who you be with."She added.
The project will be Public Service Annoucment on anything.You will need to make a video on it,also you will have to make a disply borad on it also."
As Ms.Tubman went on and on about the project I looked back at Nick who had his head down.I swear something is wired about that kid....he never fucking smiles,he use to when he went out with Samatha,but she dumped him for another dude,so he doesnt smile anymore.
"Okay let me assin your partners for you"Ms.Tubman said.I didnt listen until she got to my name.
"Kat Matthews and Nick Jonas."She said.Nick just sat next to me not looking at me at all.
"Umm hello..what do you wanna do our PSA on?"I asked him.
"I dont fucking care"He said.
"Well umm how about Child Abuse?"I asked him.I seen him tense a little when I said that.
"Sure whatever"He said.
NICK's POV.
I know Kat looks down on me just because Im not rich like her.Im not going to fall for her niceness to quickly.Her friends are mean to me,and if you hang arund people like that you are probaly mean,and fake just like them.I was still looking down at my papers when she came from the teachers desk with the project packet.
"So umm when do you wanna get started on this project?"she asked me.
I looked up at her,into her eyes and for some wired reason I instanly felt this connection.
"Umm how about we meet up Wednesday...at the libary say 3?"i said.I pulled out my cell phone nad took a picture of her.We exchange phone numbers,and she told me that she will try to find a display borad tonight.
After the bell rang I went into the hallway and flipped open my cell looking at the pciture of Kat.I had to admit she was a pretty girl,and for some reason her eyes brought comfort to me they were gentel,and peaceful.But I cant let myself open up to her.
