  • Note: James F Burke had only one arm. The Buescher Band Company made a special cornet for him for the left hand. What a brilliant player! J.B. Arban wrote a brilliant method book for the "Cornet a Piston" made for him by Joseph Antoine (Adolphe) Sax. Sax and Arban were friends. The first piece for a chamber ensemble that included the saxophone (Bass in C) was "La Chant Sacre" and featured J.B. Arban on the Sax Cornet.
