Protest of Exodus International Conference at Wheaton College

Exodus International, one of the worst organizations in the world, had its conference at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Exodus attempts to demonize homosexuality and convert or repair homosexuals, while instilling self hatred and feelings of shame to those looking for help. Many people coming out of reparative therapy are suicidal and ashamed because they cannot live a heterosexual lifestyle.

The Gay Liberation, DuPage Now, PFLAG, and other organizations protested the conference. Over 100 people came out to the ultra conservative suburb, which is good. Its a shame that more members of the LGBT community dont protest things like Exodus. It seems like many think that gay marriage is the ultimate issue while evil organizations like Exodus exist. This is the frontlines of the civil rights movement right now!

Whether a group achieves equality or not, no one can stop them from fighting for it. But I do know the description of this vid is BS! From listening to dif. perspectives (interviewing) I met 3 people who went to the exodus program and said it was a supportive growing experience. 2 of them are today happy with their gay sexuality. It was simply a step in their journey for figuring out what they wanted. Who are you to judge what is best for them? Sad a vid descrip is so full of anger and hatred.

What an ignorant thing to say. Anyone who has spent any time at all collecting interviews or research on Exodus will know how many suicides there are associated to this "supportive" program. And who are you to say someone shouldn't accept who he or she is? We should be angry at organizations who thrive on self hatred.

Homosexuality does not need a cure, and "being" homosexual is not sinful. Exodus attempts to offer another way out for those who are homosexual/bisexual that want to live in coherance with God's word. Secondly, Homosexuality should not be an identity...I don't introduce myself by saying "Hello! Nice to meet you, I'm gay." I say "Hello! Nice to meet you, my name is..."

Sexual identity is not "who we are," we are already identified in Christ.

I almost cannot believe this is still happening. If I were forced to change from heterosexual to lesbian, I'd jump off of a cliff. Same thing. These exodus people make this sound like it's a matter of "taste" or something. Our gay brothers and sisters can't be "cured" from their sexuality any more than a heterosexual can. What is it that exodus doesn't understand?

@nwoshock2012 God can't change the suicide rate. Humans can. Too many prejudiced people are hating on gay and lesbian youth and there are no outlets for them to live their lives as they were born to. People need to treat fellow humans with the respect they deserve.

@djdicrispino Exodus actually focuses on the love God has for you as his child. There is NO hate involved in that ministry. I am gay and I have nothing but respect and admiration for everything they do. Don't beleive all the rhetoric you hear. Oh yeah and btw the gay community already has one of the highest suicide rates. Maybe we can change that by letting them know how much God loves them.
