  • It was written by Tommy you must br confusing "The Town I Loved So Well"

  • This song is an original and was written by Tommy Makem not Phil Coulter .

Makem was the greatest balladeer Ireland ever produced and in many ways can only be equalled by The Corries.

  • Tommy was a Leprachaun in a past life.

  • From what I can find it is a Tommy Makim composition.

  • I don't think that Phil wrote this one. It sounds and feels like a Tommy Makem Song.

  • @FolkandTrad Phil wrote the song, "The Town I Loved So Well".

  • @sgtgewart1 Phil Coulter

  • who wrote this song

  • I have long dreamed of going to Ireland and after listening to this song many times, I am going. I need that rest for the body and peace for the soul!
