Not much to describe except total disappointment Failed EOWS 612 siren at the old Fernald uranium/plutonium factory and a noisy pumping station nearby so the audio sucks. You can still faintly hear a few of the surrounding 1212s activate, but I do not think that this EOWS system is working properly 2 alert signals were activated and no attack.

  • what city is this 612 located?

  • @amtrak3501 Hamilton County (Cincinnati, Ohio) southwestern Ohio in the northwestern most part of the county (Crosby township)

  • Aw man! too bad it didn't go off. Great ambiance of the others, though!

This 612 looks quite shiny. Perhaps a new paint job, or newly installed?

  • This one was also part of the original Fernald nuclear disaster warning system. This 612 was actually on the south side plant site along with another 1212 mouted on the water tower on north side plant site. It is 26 years old.

  • Nice video. Sorry that it failed. At least you have those sirens. Brookpark had their EOWS 612's replaced by FS 2001-130's.

    :(

  • These are starting to disappear too. Lost 4 1212s yesterday replaced by T-128s

  • Awww, it's kinda sad....

  • UPDATE 10/21/10 this EOWS* 612 rotated a different direction

  • How come it wasn't working for?

  • Do you know if this was ever fixed or what the current plans are for it? When I was out there the other day (happened to end up in that area while driving around), I noticed that there didn't appear to be any power going to it, so that could be the issue.

  • oooo...... shiney!

  • This 612 is at the Fernald Uranium and Plutonium processing plant off of Willey Rd. Which is off of Ohio S.R. 128

  • i agree with you siren1000t1 if i was recording my first siren and it failed i would b upset too.

  • those 1212s sound scary
