If you look closely at the underside of the tub, it appears to be fiberglass. Plumber's putty probably would be better than the silicone due to the silicone supposedly shrinking (although some modern silicones may not shrink!).

Don't use silicone for seals, it shrinks over time.

Can you do my jacuzzi? Lower drain and upper overflow are not aligned in a straight line. Do I need to buy one that goes with the jacuzzi or do I need extra pvc pipe and make adjustments?
