  • The first work of Derek Jarman That I had ever seen was Wittgenstein.Thank you for allowing me to see so much more of his beautiful films

  • @ramenbo Many thanks for your appreciation. I hope you go on to explore Derek's work in greater depth by watching more of his wonderful films. Happy viewing.

  • It's a wonderful film, thank you so much. I have to say that I miss Keith Collins in all the documentaries about Derek, but I also understand his wish to be out of the public eye. Guess it was really difficult to go through all those years with Derek being sick and horrible headlines in all the tabloids.

  • @DorianFuk Dorian, many thanks for your comment. I did ask Keith for an interview, but, as you say, it was all too difficult for him to talk about on camera - which I fully understand. Keith was so helpful in every other way though - allowing me to film at Prospect Cottage, etc. etc. Indeed, everyone I approached for my doc was so helpful: a reflection on how much Derek meant to those he came into contact with.

  • It's Erik Satie's Gnossienne No. 1 and "beautiful" - you're right

  • Thank you !!

  • We need a new Derek Jarman to continue making films that challenge and question us. Then again, Derek was a one-off. I can't see anyone coming up with something as stunningly beautiful and cerebrally brilliant as Wittgenstein, Edward II or Caravaggio. It would take vision and guts. Who has that nowadays?

  • @400blowsAKN The garden is absolute proof that film is a visual art. I wonder if being trained as a painter had an influence on Jarman's films?

  • Thank you so much for uploading this! now time to watch the films. one at a time.

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to upload all 8 parts. A wonderful program that would not be available to all of us around the world. A striking, one of a kind person who did so much for many by being true when so many tried to hide. His finest work.

  • Thanks! The documentary is great as well.
