For its time Soldier Blue was considered quite a shocking film. The persecution of native Americans is a disgusting blot on the history of USA, as is the Conquistadores terrible atrocities perpetrated on the native South Americans. At least films like Dances with Wolves ( albeit with a lot of dramatic irony) go a long way to show a different side to some Americans. The Brit were no better, I am ashamed of my country's history; all usually done in the of a Christian god, now there's a surprise
