Poor Peg. Apparently a message came through the day after her suicide that she'd got a part in a movie. She was married for a while to one of my favorite old character actors, Robert Keith (father to another great actor, Brian Keith, although Peg wasn't Brian's mother). Still, by topping herself she did ensure immortality of a sort, like the old Greek Empedocles who threw himself into the volcano on Mt Etna just to be remembered! Me, I'd rather live till 90 and die forgotten!

It must have been a sight to see Hollywood and Los Angeles back in 1932. I have always known it to be what it has been in the past 30 years.
