Meddegan Road was our club's (Liphook & District MRC) first attempt at building an N Gauge layout. It is built on three 4' x 2' boards giving a total length of 12'.
It represents a small wayside station on a secondary line somewhere in the UK. There is a small yard still remaining as well as a smattering of buildings. The main feature is the hillside at the far end of the layout from the station, which boasts a stone circle.
The layout covered the period from the early 1980s through to about 2000...the stock operating here is from the latter end of this timescale. In this clip we have a Virgin cross country train and a Central Trains class 158; all are Farish Models.
The station building is a modified PECO model and the platforms are Metcalfe. Kestrel and BH Enterprises also feature and the shed in the former yard area was scratch built.
The layout saw a few exhibitions before being replaced by our club's Japanese layout. It is still intact, although has been in storage for about five years.
