Eventhough this video talks about the importance of Amateur Radio communication, India the process to get a license is too cumbersome. The HAM clubs in various metros do scout for interested people, coach them and encourage them to appear for the test. What happens after that ??
There is the police verification which may or may not happen. Then there is the licensing authority who would not give a genuine status update. You may get a license after 2-3 years, if you have patience and interest.
