  • Even though I'm probably only slighter older, I can definitely assure you that expressing yourself verbally becomes easier with time. And it's true, we are definitely more creatively attuned (the SP's don't have full ownership over the arts!) Music has definitely been a saving grace for me; sounds like it has for you too. Thank you so much for posting.

  • @infpatty

Thanks Patty! I love your videos and I appreciate your comment :)

  • I seriously cannot keep up a conversation at all..I blank out, and it gets very awkward. I usually just walk away or start doing something else!! its very embarassing and hard for me too :(

public speaking, I'd rather die than go up and talk..

also I love music and art, i spend most of my days drawing or painting while listening to music..it feels exhilarating :)

Im glad im not alone in my "failures" so to speak lol...

  • @veronicachic You are definitely not alone! I do the same thing. I have an ENFP friend that says I always walk away when she's still talking haha.

  • Aww Im infp too. I can talk to people I really love forever but to the ones i dont really find a connection/appreciation kind of not at all!

You kind of look like scarlett johannson bye the way!

  • @dowfhg Thank you :) Yeah it is hard to find stuff to talk about with people you don't connect with. Especially when you run out of those small talk questions lol

  • Hey, I'm an infp and also feel i have trouble talking to people. I think its because everyone else i know can do small talk, random chatting or flirting while i dont have a clue. its pretty common for me to be told by someone that they havent had such a deep conversation for ages, but if it isnt deep or interesting i just sit their like a lemon. i talk like you as well, lots or err, ums and tangents.

I can talk for hours with the right person, 10 seconds the wrong (most) bummer.

  • I'm an INFP, but I thought I was an ENFP for so long because my Ne is highly developed for my age (I'm 18). I socialize well enough and have no problem acting and then thinking (rather than Fi's thinking and then acting) in extroverted settings... but I get bored and tired of most people so quickly that it feels like I have to force myself to really care about what's going on "out there". It sucks because I look like an extrovert in the eyes of my friends so they expect me to extrovert. :/

  • i can completely relate to everything u just said. i feel like no body i speak to gets the bigger picture, they just focus on minor details that go on through the day and i cant do that. i look at the forest not the trees... i am especially close to music, bruce springsteen in particular because he is so real in his lyrics and has many many songs i hold dear to my heart. many of his songs i say to myself r such INFP songs. either way it does stink being an INFP most of the time ;-(

  • The struggle to express oneself verbal never seems to go away...it's trying to find the right words..a drawback of being flooded with "word candidates" to pick from constantly... Small talk is not a problem when you adopt the idea that it in itself is an art... and the creativity comes in the challenge of not running out of topics and staying interested throughout... At least that's been my experience all these years....

  • I'm an infp, and i have a very hard time approaching people. I don't really know how to make friends. It seems like some kind of a deep mystery to me :P

  • Grace!!!

It's always so comforting to hear from a fellow infp :) hope you're doing well!

Have you ever been by personalitycafe by the way?? I've met dozens of other infps there too :)

p.s. sorry my comment is so short....I might've typed and retyped it one too many times hahahaha

  • @littleflowwer I find it actually makes me MORE anxious oftentimes -- it frequently just takes away my ability to block out emotions or anxiety I'm feeling, which is actually a good thing because it allows me to face those things head-on instead of hiding from them.

I remember smoking a few years ago with a friend's friend and having my social anxiety kick into double-time. But again, it helps me to face those things head-on due to this.

  • Its hard dude. Im now a teacher - its been a struggle - but im nailing it now! Keep walking and you will go far :-)
