40-Song Chain-Link Mashup: Stronger, We Found Love, Without You, Crash Your Party,Stereo Hearts,Ours

So I came up w/this "chain link" idea for a mashup: Each song shares lyrics w/the song before it & after it, so the lyrics overlap as I transition into the next song. The word/phrase they have in common functions as a "link," meaning all the songs are linked together... LIKE A CHAIN! :)

Really hope you like it even though it's crazy long. Stick w/me till the end & there's a giant cyber hug waiting for you!! But the hug will run away if you skip any parts. (It knows when you've been skipping, it knows when you're awake.)

40 songs was my target from the beginning, even though it seemed crazy to string that many together into one mashup—at least in this "chain link" fashion. Can't believe I actually did! The final "missing links" I needed came to me last night...like a Christmas miracle! So happy to finally have it done!

Like always, I did the song part all in one take. Thumbs up for one take! :) Seeing as this mashup is 10 minutes long (whoa horse!) and full of melody changes, you can imagine how bonkers I went every time I'd mess up past the 5-minute mark. I was like OH MY GAWWW I'm never gonna make it to the end. But I eventually did—yay!

Alternate titles for this vid could be: "2011 Mega Mashup Extreme" or "The Mashup That Never Ends" lol. I fit 3 Karmin songs + 3 Kelly Clarkson songs in here--woo hoo! Swag + pop sandwich :) Karmin speed rap is SO fun.

My rules for this chain-link mashup:

1. Songs clips could not be cut/edited. Each song I had to have the next "link" within approx 30 seconds or less. Meaning I couldn't just find a word in common at the beginning of the song, then jump to the end of the song and use a word there to link to the next one. The effect is kinda like if you were flipping through 40 radio stations, listening to each song for a few seconds, BUT less choppy because of the overlapping transitions. (Isn't that special?)

2. I could only use each song once--with the exception of the very end obviously (see rule #3). This way it's truly a 40-song mashup. 40 different songs represented.

3. 40th song had to link back to the first song at the same part/word I started with to "close the loop" and complete the chain :)

Fun fact: Many of these songs contain the words "rain" or "tattoo."

1. Was this concept interesting?

3. Should I do more of these?

I have some unused strings of songs that didn't quite fit into this mashup, so I could maybe do another one. I tried so hard to get "Stuck Like Glue" in here b/c I adore Sugarland, but I just couldn't make it work. Next one maybe!
