Well, here's maybe one of the most underrated songs from Rush. This song starts the "prog" period and it's just plain crazy. There are about 54 changes of time signatures cramped within 5 minutes and it displays many drumming themes that Neil will use over and over again in the subsequent years. This song has always been a nightmare for me and I finally took the time to learn it. It is *not* perfect by any means, there are mistakes, but I'm actually proud of this version! So, I hope you enjoy anyway (and that you like my bird sounds at the beginning)!!

  • Just wanted to say thanks for all the amazing videos! Thanks to you I've discovered quite a few Rush songs that are among my favourites. I first stumbled across one of your vids way back in 2007, and would listen to your playing while I worked. I lost your channel though, but recently rediscovered it, and am very glad I did! :)

  • @TkDiamond08 You're welcome and glad to have you back! ;)

  • je suis vraiment fier d'etre quebecois quand je te regarde jouer!!!!!très impressionnant,je ferme les yeux et je vois neil peart.extra bon!!!!!

  • @superpinkfloyd101 Merci!

  • Great video and awesome technical skills on the throne. I know you have been to Rush concerts so just wondering if you have had the chance to speak with Neil or meet him? I know he stays to himself and rarely speaks to fans, hes just a person that enjoys his work and his life. Have you had that opportunity and if so, does he know of your percussion skills that you have mastered?

  • @Dvrdve5150 I have been to many Rush concerts. I have never met any members of the band and it's ok like that. The only "contact" I've had with Neil was during the show on the Presto tour. I was air drumming in the front rows and he noticed and kept watching me. It was totally cool. Once, he badly missed a flam during a song and immediately looked at me with his mad face. Hehe. I'll never forget that.

  • Just when you think you are the biggest RUSH fan out there a guy like this shows how hard he is willing to work to promote their music. That was over the top!!!!!!!

  • FANTASTIC

  • @snowman4440 Thanks for watching!

  • @1989PinballWizard Thanks! Foot speed: Thanks although I always try to improve control over speed (e.g. I'm not a very good metal drummer... ;) ), my feet playing is probably a main weakness of mine. I don't have any exercises except two pieces of advice maybe: 1) Try to relax, even if reaching for power and speed; 2) Take breaks while practicing; the long leg muscles can get tired and you can lose some control if not taking regulat breaks (at least for me). Good luck!

  • @ErikH2112 Thank you!
