A bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, left from American Cyclery and on the way to the Marin Headlands for a "picnic" (couple bags of chips, cold veggie dogs). One of the pre-event events for SSWC08.
Shot with a VholdR camera mounted to my helmet. Some of the video was cut for time, including the part where I had to walk around a pillar because the wind almost knocked me off my bike.

  • Especially with a 32:20 gear ratio ;-)

  • True. But those busy six lanes pay for the thing to exist in the first place.

  • traveled from Mpls to SF for SSWC08, but never made it out farther than this ride (to napa). That bridge was windy

  • It's a beautiful bridge and the view is spectacular, but some idiot put a very busy 6 lane freeway in the middle of it. Makes it hard to realy relax and enjoy the ride.

  • Mountain bikes work quite well on paved surfaces.

  • That looks like a trip I need to make, some day.

  • Where's the dirt?

  • Yup, another beautiful summer's day in San Francisco.

  • That is so cool.

How long is the Golden Gate Bridge?
