Michigan State Senator Tupac A. Hunter (D-Detroit) responds to the Governor's 2008 State of the State address:
"Governor Granholm put forth a strong plan to encourage economic development and help for homeowners trying to cope with escalating mortgage rates in a depressed economy. I strongly support increasing MSHDA funding to prevent families from being priced out of their homes. I'm also very supportive of increased efforts to ban the predatory lending practices that often accompany these mortgages.
In addition, I am particularly excited about exploring incentives for new and innovative industries, like alternative energy and film-making, to help lure these businesses to our state to build our economy and expand the job opportunities. The next step is to work together legislatively to make these efforts a reality."
LOL @ Tupac

Túpac Amaru (Thupaq Amaru in modern Quechua) (d. 1572), was the last indigenous leader of the Inca state in Peru.
Both Tupac's are named for this man. This Tupac, however, is a wonderful, intelligent man with a heart for the people of Michigan. Watch this shooting star.
