This video demonstrates some of the possibilities of the jit-ogre external I created for Max/MSP/Jitter, which embeds the Ogre3d rendering engine. The ninja is from the Ogre3D distribution. The music is Tomahawk.

  • When you say the animation states are real time are you using a motion capture system or are you controlling the current animation via a game contoller? So with jit-orge can I model, texture and rig a character in ogre and then control the animation in max/msp jitter

  • @GarrettStrobel in this demo, the animations are loaded from a file, and were probably created and exported from a 3D modeling package.

however, to answer your question, yes you can texture and rig a character in a 3D modeling software, export to OGRE file format, and load and control the character in Max/MSP with jit-ogre. you can either blend pre-made animations, or manually control the bones of the mesh's skeleton.
