@stopHAARP If it werent for GMO foods then at least 1/2 the world population would be dead due to starvation....all technology has up and down sides....take fire for instance...it cooks our food and warms our homes...but it can kill...should we ban it because its dangerous????

Congress is now pushing for regulation of nanotech because they is a recognition that it presents unique dangers. Ex. nanoparticles can cross the blood-brain barrier, causing untold danger. Nanoparticles can cross cell membranes. How nano behaves in various environments is simply unknown, being discovered the hard way; we're the guinea pigs. No labelling requirements when nano is used in products-unsuspecting public being used by nanotech industry.

Nanotechnolgy is new- so there is no doubt there will be some people who are scared of it. Kind of like the people who said columbus would fall off the edge of the earth, or the people who said that sustained flight was impossible, or the people who said that electricity was much to dangerous to control safely!
Well guess what- once nanotechnology is around- you will use it gladly- you will be too busy yelling about the next technology coming out!
