Australian based pyrotechnics company Howard and Sons was the second competitor at the Oman World Fireworks Championship 2010.
The championship is the largest and most spectacular fireworks competition in the world. It is part of the 40th National Day Celebrations of the Sultanate of Oman, and the largest fireworks event ever held in the Middle East. Coming from Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Americas, six of the world's very best pyrotechnic production companies put their skills, artistry and technological know-how to the test, as they battle it out for the coveted Champion's Trophy.
Howard and Sons was founded in 1922, and has provided spectacular pyrotechnic displays all over the world ever since. Howard & Sons famously provided the historical displays for the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932 and the Sydney Opera House in 1973. More recently, Howard & Sons have been lighting up the skies for numerous festivals and major sporting events, including this year's Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
With 88 years in the business, and four generations worth of talent, Howard & Sons are a major force in the Oman World Fireworks Championship 2010.
