He is so good. I can't get my 7 month Basset girl to lay down. She is confusing it with sitting... How did you do it?

Your dog seems to be well behaved. How did you do it!? We bought 2 basset puppies of which unfortunately we had to do away with one (we couldn't handle the mess they made).
Now even with only one puppy at 10 weeks old, we can't seem to make him understand that the apartment is not his bathroom!
Any suggestions?

Hi, thanks for watching Snoop's video.
Ok, first of all I don't think Bassets are long to be in apartments or condos. They get big almost everyday. They will weigh from 55-75 LBS on adult size and i tell you, that's heavy for a midget dog.
When Snoop was around 3-9 month old, all he does is play / eat / sleep. Then we gave him the basic training he needs otherwise he will turn out spoiled and will give us problems. Good thing you gave up the other basset. Just imagine 2 bassets in one apt. :)

I got my Basset at two and the old owners never had time for him they were always working. So they gave him to me, I could spend more time with him. He was a ball of energy from the get go. He is only now slowing down after 10 years and that is understandable. Basset's can be as smart as any other dog. Your dog looks very well behaved too.

Yup Bassets are smart breed but sometimes can be stubborn. Our boy pretty much behave but once in a blue moon, he gets a bit stubborn esp if he wants to play. He will tease me with his ball and make some noises. lolz We just love the breed.
