The Multitek Model 2040XP2 firewood processor is the workhorse of the firewood industry. Quality engineered for the large volume professional firewood producer, it sets the standard by which all other processors are measured.
@pingo1365 I have an older 2040xp and it handles any local wood I throw at it. Here we have oak, ash, maple, persimmon, wild cherry, black walnut, and SHAGBARK HICKORY. this machine will handle all these species with ease(8-way splitter), even 20" diameter if necessary. If you need to run bigger logs, them maybe look at the 3040, the larger machine. These machines aren't cheap, and some are on the used market. I see this machine as the best on the market, and priced accordingly.
I'm located in British Columbia and am wondering if anyone has seen this machine process west coast fir? All the vides I seem to find are of machines cutting and splitting really easy to split woods... maple and birch and such. I'm in the market for a machine that will cut and split a 24" round of Douglas Fir that has been exposed to wind... Can anyone help me?
@kenfo0 I dont work for the company either and this is by far the best machine out there. I run one every day full tilt, I try to break it so the boss will buy me a new one but I havent been able to yet ( its a 1993 model) And $145k is just for the machine, that's not including the log loader or trucks or the tree length wood you have to buy. We try to have at least 500-750 cord on hand at all times... at $100 a cord that all adds up pretty quick.
Where I live, in Calhoun county Alabama USA the price is 150 per cord. 60 miles away in Birmingham, the price goes to 200 per cord. Some charge more in peak conditions.
This machine is awesome,i run an 2040in NZ and it just chews through bluegum wattle and macrocapa like it was butter. Such an easy machine to maintain. good stuff.
