This lovely song of Mehdi Hasan got fame after the release of Behisht (Heaven) movie of Nadeem Nisho & Nayar Sultana back in 1974. The lyrics are by Riaz Shahid who was also the co-director of the movie and music was by Rasheed Attre. Imagine the story of old movies used to be the final meet up and marriage of hero and heroine and that would happen at the end after a long struggle, fightings and hanky phanky of families lol. In this movie the hero had to get married after his mom threatens for suiside so he bows his head to her wish. Finally when he got to the wedding bed, surprisingly he meets the charming lady of his dreams -- the same girl he wanted to marry.... thus in his extreme joys, he sings this song "if I was a poet I would sing your marriage song, I would call your face like moon and I would fly with you like fragrance and hide you from the people stares........." Like many others I am also in love of this beautiful song and I hope you'd like this tribute to the great legend in my voice. Thanks
