  • I have one of these cars sitting in my garage (inherited from Grandpa). It's a 1965. What's it worth?

  • I saw this video on "Before They Were Stars" a couple years ago. That's a very young Dustin Hoffman.

  • Awesome commercial

  • @rayjones321 I used to see one parked at the house near my bus stop as a kid. For years, I guessed that I had imagined it or that it was a Peugeot or something. Then, I worked with a guy from Puerto-Rico who said that they were coveted there. The one by the bus stop must have been gray-market.

  • @maize5 Yeah I drive a 73' Squareback. Type 3's are definitely the red headed step child of the air cooled VW community.

  • My dad owns a 1971 VW Fastback, the later model which isn't as pretty as this model, but it still turns heads. Not many people know that Type 3s even exist. We call it our Poorsche.

  • I have a 1969 Type 3 Fastback with the factory air conditioning. Those are rare. Type 3s are not as common as Bugs or Busses, but they're not all that rare. I've even seen people giving them away. They are, without a doubt, the best of the old VWs. Best handling, most room, great all the way around.

  • Be aware when you purchase a rebuilt carburator!; My 66 Fastback catch fire because a faulty metal cilynder part that goes between the main gas entrance on the carb and the rubber hose that connect with the fuel pump, the part goes loose and spill all the gas over the engine.

  • @rayjones321 Yeah but they're around. My squareback was bought in germany and shipped over by the buyer so you know there has to be a few floating around in the states. I would import one myself if I could afford it. Honestly I plan on it someday.

  • @jcpelly Those are really hard to get if you live in the U.S, I don't think they were ever imported
