Maybe I'm just an Old Fart of Fandom, but I refused to pick up "Death of the New Gods", as I have too much respect for Jack Kirby and his creations. DC has been dissing his characters for years, unless they need Darkseid and I don't want to encourage them.

I think you're right. DC has never shown a lot of respect for a lot of what Jack built (IMHO) but at the same time I'm excited to see what they do with all this. I think they may do some very interesting work with the new world they have built.

Thanks for the tip on NICK FURY. I was probably going to pass it by, but will pick it up now.

After killing Darkseid everything else would be a let down, but I expected more I guess. We'll see what they do with this 'border guard' thing.

Also think you are dead on about 'Sightings', but might glance at some of those titles in the shop.

Why didn't you plug FREE COMIC BOOK DAY?

As I said in a reply earlier please please please get New Avengers 40. HUGE issues after the Mighty Avengers issues.

I might still get some of the sightings issues but it means that I'll read all in the store. Really I think that it means that people will sit in stores reading more than buying.

good show. had to fast forward thru the MA 12 review. still waitin' for mine in the mail. totally agree about countdown 1. the whole dcu is just a drag. if it weren't for batman i don't think i'd be able to stomach any of it. that bein' said batman r.i.p. is gonna be awesome!

Just as a heads up if you haven't ordered New Avengers 40 do so. I will be reviewing it but I'll try to contain the spoilers but seriously get this book.

I actually did just finish reading Death Of The New Gods. I'll pick up Countdown#2 next time I go to the shop. Thanks for the info.

Mighty Avengers #12 is such a key issue, it's going to be interesting to see what the red and blue circles mean.

Also, Ed Brubaker is one of my favorite writers. His work on Thor is fantastic, I've been enjoying the series and I hope he sticks around for it. Great Vid man, great reviews.
