On holidays in Kona, we wanted to swim across to the Captain Cook monument. It was very early in the morning and as soon as we started swimming we saw a pod of dolphins. By the time we got to where they had been they were gone. So disappointed that we'd missed them - however one of the snorkellers in the water told us to wait, that the dolphins might return. Sure enough, about 20 minutes later the big pod (at least 35 spinner dolphins) returned and stayed in the area for the next 1.5 hours. This clip shows a few of the dolphins playing together, including a number of matings. Incredible.
