Sam & Hannah "Pokarekare Ana" at World Champs LA and Koru Club, LA

Updated video recording of Sam (10yrs) and Hannah (12yrs) from New Zealand performing their silver medal winning song "Pokarekare Ana" at World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood in July 2008.

Pokarekare Ana is a traditional New Zealand maori song that is over 100 years old. It's a classic kiwi favourite and is believed to have been sung to the men going off to fight in WW1.

Sam and Hannah qualified into the semi finals and received a plaque for overall Junior Champion for their category. They also received several other medals for their solo and group entries.

This video clip also includes an impromptu accapella performance of this song at the Air NZ Koru Lounge in LA on the way home - our heartfelt thanks for the awesome Thierry and his team who invited the kids to sing and gave us a truly 5-star sendoff from LA.

@nzellemac I got the words while visiting Australia and sing the song in a Barbershop quartet, Please let me know what the correct word is instead of Rotorua as I would hate of offend anybody. It is one of the best songs I have ever sang with "Wight Harmony's" quartet, "Wight Wine"
