Veni Vidi Vici- "I came I saw, i conquered".

No olympic champion has to apologize to those who weren't there. All they can do is beat the people who were there and they are olympic champion. Whether Bobby Morrow was faster than Dave Sime or Leamon King is not the point. He doesn't have anything to prove. He was there and he won it. The rest is idle speculation.

Incredible, one of the greatest sprinters of all time.

Weh1921 is correct, the 100m final was run into a strong head wind, and is the reason for the slow time --- it's a historical fact, look it up. Morrow had tied the world record (10.3) at the US trials several times.Your comment about "sprinting must have been in a slump" is ridiculous. Morrow beat the best of his time (Sime), and the '50's had some great sprinters. Also, Armin Hary winning time in 1960 was 10.2 not 10.0. and was neck and neck with Dave Sime (silver) at the finish line.

Mad max I agree Jesse Owens winning time of 10.3 would have left Morrow in the dust!!!!

Bobby was "hero" to many of us at Rotan High in the 50s. I have the pleasure of knowing Thane Baker and his wife Sally here in Texas. What a great time for the USA and these awesome men!
