I saw this woman on the news today
Who's crying baby in her arms had nothing to eat
Mother nature wiped her home away
Tonight she's facing sleeping rough in the mud on the street

She lost her sister and father and seven year old daughter
She came from nothing build something just to lose everything
The look of despair as she hears the pretty blond reporter
Say to the camera that we all must help each other

I really feel her pain but then again I know I'll never understand
And as I call the number at the bottom of the screen to donate twenty dollars
I'm beginning to wonder

If we stand together
We can make a change
And more than ever let our voice be heard
If we pray together
God may send his angels
Down from heaven
Cos we need them down here on earth

The time was half past seven when outside her door she saw
Two men in uniforms with hats held tight in their hands
Struck by fear she broke down on the floor
Then the cops said sorry m'am please let us help you understand

He went to buy you flowers at the store on his way home
When out of nowhere the concrete floors started to crack
A little boy was trapped all on his own
When your husband tried to save him that's when everything turned black

And with his last breath the last thing he said was please tell my wife
That I love her more than anything and know
She'll be the perfect mother to our unborn daughter
It's getting harder everyday to keep the faith
When all we hear about is suffering and pain
Father send a guardian angel our way
To make this world whole again
Before it's too late
