I used to do this song a lot when I sang at fairs & things. The lads did it far better than I could ever hope to, though I did try manfully! Tiocfaidh Ar La!

@IrishandFolkmusic sorry i sent it to the wrong person sorry about that
-
@PETERSNOTGAY08 It was called sarcasm, thats why it was in response to Noddy1690
-
@IrishandFolkmusic ur mistaken there its a catholic country there shoudnt have been protestants here in the first place
-
@Noddy1690 the only reason the presbyterians rebelled is because they were being persecuted by anglicans and methodists in ireland in the 1700s thats why they startyed a rebellion in the first place it's a two sided story
-
Protestants never took the lives or land of Catholics what a silly idea!

@PETERSNOTGAY08 When the RCs started piking protestant women and children during the rebellion they soon changed their minds.
I'm Welsh. This song brings tears to my eyes. I remember listening to this song when i was younger. I realised it had something to do with the troubles but didn't know the history. It's brought back memories to me. Apart from the history its a lovely song.

@NuitLux It's definitely a moving song, but it was written well over a hundred years before the troubles.
