Yes I'm now calling my Ex-British Army, Harley Davidson MT350 "The Wuf"!

On Sunday I took The Wuf out for a ride on a couple of local byways (green lanes). Thanks to Sven for his website at http://www.bywaydatabase.com/ as I'd have never found them without it (and almost didn't even find them with it!)

It's a lot of fun, but quite a bit diffeent to what I was expecting. I'm glad I did this first one on my own, but hopefully I'll find someone to ride with, as I crapped myself when the bike wouldn't start in the middle of the nowhere! I think there must have been some stuff in the fuel tank or something as I've had a similar problem since then.

In the past few days I took the bike to work. We've done a few hundred miles and it's going strong and loosening up all the time. The Wuf just needs to stretch it's legs as it's been sitting around for years!

  • can i say again love your bike . do you think your starting problem might be a venting issue in your tank ? try unscrewing your gas cap alittle when you start just a thought. cheap troubleshoot

  • @67kneil Yeah, I'd thought of that and did unscrew the cap at the time. I think it was more to do with some crap at the bottom of the tank.

I've been spoile the last few years, all my bikes have had guages / lights on to tell me when I was running out, so no different positions for the fuel tap.

But now I'm getting used to the fuel tap again, and I'd been running it on the reserve by mistake. So of course all the crap gathers down there. I ran out fo fuel on Monday because of it!

  • Glad to see you having some fun on The Wuf. Careful out there exploring on your own. if anything happens it could be a long while until anybody finds you. ;^)

  • @RC62 Yeah you're right. I got a bit scared when the bike wouldn't start in the middle of nowhere!

  • BW8 is where Dan got abused by two blokes with shotguns, FYI

  • @svengalie lol, I'd read that on the website, but thought it was a joke! Ah well, I'll just attach my gun box next time ;)

See, that's a good reason though why having a camera recording all the time is a good idea... Another reason added to the list for SWMBO...

  • @navythomas8 you'd have to slow down for me though! By the looks of the state of your roads though, I think our byways are easier to ride on!

  • @birdman404 Yeah, it was nice mate, had a great time!

  • Wish we didnt live on opposite ends of the pond!!!!! You and I would have a blast exploring the country sides!!!The Wuf and the Goat together!!!
