Series 3, Episode 2, "When A Child Is Born". Peter and Assumpta have different views about faith and religion. Their initial dust-up evolves over the Ballyk miracle statue into a more personal discussion about just who they believe in.
This is one of the harshest scenes of Series 1-3. Peter is at a critical and dangerous juncture. He's been assaulted on so many levels. Everything he's tenderly believed in and devoted his life to is turning to dust. Assumpta knows that her snarky cracks are a cynical cover for her deeper feelings, and she's panicky that Peter will just pack it all in and leave BallyK out of disillusionment and disgust. She has to sort this out, and quickly!
I love this, When Brendon tell Assumpta that "thats his vocation you just kicked in the gorin." She says what she feels and doesn't realize the effect it has until it's too late. Like we all do at times. Thanks for posting all these I can't get enough of them.
