I'll do a basic breakdown and reassembly of a 1972 Ruger Security-Six .357 Magnum revolver.

  • Picked one up for $325 in stellar condition, if the gun shoots good, then it may be the best bargain I have ever stumbled into.

  • It's hard to find good revolvers at a decent price anymore. Since their popularity has again skyrocketed, so have the prices. A gun show I recently went to in Columbus, OH had ridiculously high prices for revolvers. Even .22 revolvers and rifles were several hundred.

  • you start by checking your gun is not loaded!!!

  • Thank you. By habit, I check my guns before filming. Sometimes I forget that there are people watching who might not know to check their guns. I added an annotation to the video in bright red so everyone will see it. Thanks for pointing out this major flaw to me. I want everyone to know I check the status of all my guns liberally, and apologize for not stressing it enough to everyone else, as it is one of the most important steps.

  • I'll try to sound less gay.

  • Great video Thanks for posting

  • @c0d3cr4zy Yes, you can see it in the video. Its the part sticking up next to the transfer bar and is called the pawl. There can be lots of reasons for cylinder rotation "problems" and not necessarily the pawl, though it can be a cause of them. The length of the pawl can affect cylinder timing. Too short and the clyinder stop wont be lined up with the bolt.

  • @korn1536 how's that working out?

  • can you make a video of the trigger disassembly and cleaning?

  • You always do a great job on these man, Thx!

  • Thanks, well done and very informative. Who needs manuals anyway?

  • Excellent video! Thanks. An excellently engineered weapon. I want one.
