The best Long Island band from the late 60's. From there 3rd and final LP "If It's So". Video quality is poor but this is rare footage. A tribute to a great band.

illusion, The Vagrants, Vanilla Fudge, The Young Rascals, The Hassles, The Rich Kids. These were great times to be a music fan on Long island. Some great playing here, all around. Illusion always put on a great show!

i forgot to mention what a great band the illusion were. saw them again in scranton at the warehouse and at newton lake.

a band i played bass in(american asfault) opened up for the illusion in about 1969 at unganos in nyc. about 20 yrs later i was at a party on long island where a big wedding type band was playing. i recognized the way the bass player stood, sure enough it was chuck alder. we had a good conversation and he was blown away i recognized him.

You really had to see these guys live to appreciate them. The albums, although great, couldn't hold a candle to their live shows. Very powerful!!

saw them on some tv show when i was a kid......became the first album i ever bought................still think they were as good as any band ever..............fantastic...

Went with a group of friends to see this band many times in LI clubs back in the late 60s. Never forgot them. They were that good! An excellent live band and a terrific show. Most people went to clubs to dance and meet mates, but when the Illusion played, everyone stopped to watch. Thanks for the memories. Would love to see more of their stuff.
