Robots are now being developed that can "understand" human emotions. They can interact with their users, and express happiness and sadness, depending on the situation.
European researchers working on the Feelix Growing project hope that their caring robots will eventually be able to provide companionship for the elderly, monitor patients, and help autistic children.
but, technically, the robot isn't really LEARNING the emotions right? They are being programmed to react right? They are using certain equations to know how to react to certain things.
I'm no tech junkie or anything but I wouldn't call this learning. It is definantly an advancement in technology.
