Not really sure that they were Glam Rock were they? How did they get in here and Bowie is nowhere to be seen. Something wrong there surely? lol Fun times though.
Like the lady in this video said....these guys were never intended to be taken seriously. However.....being that i had an older sister that was right in their target audience range....i was exposed to practically every song they released....and they were very catchy songs with strong hooks. Their songs actually gave me an appreciation for pop music....and just music in general. Later on...i started listening to my older brothers albums from Led Zep, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles etc...
The Rollers, by design or accident, managed to bridge Glam and bubble gum pop - perhaps Glam Lite - which likely explains why they realized the success in the U.S and Canada that other Glam acts like Slade, T Rex, Bowie and others couldn't quite manage. At one extreme, you have the British Glam acts and at the other extreme - bubblegum acts such as a the Osmonds, David and Shaun Cassidy - and occupying the middle ground - the Bay City Rollers. Glam? Bubblegum? Actually both - a hybrid sound.
Damn....she's a cutie! :) 1:43
