Reverend Xola Skosana of Way of Life Church in Khayelitsha will lead a march through the townships of Cape Town this Easter. This march is a continuation of another demonstration that took place on 25th of December 2010 where various community structures joined Rev Skosana in a march from Khayelitsha Stadium to the N2 under the strongly worded banner, "Welcome To Hell - South African Townships". Rev Skosana sees South African to...wnships and squatter camps as hell on earth, he says:
"Townships are nothing but glorified refugee camps, rat infested hellholes that must be exposed for what they really are. In many parts of South Africa, townships exist as readily available hubs of cheap labour to keep labour intensive industries going for the benefit of the few. Let it be known across the breath and length of this country that the continuation of separate development and integration, based on affordability, is the perpetuation of the notorious Group Areas Act of yesteryear".
The 13 km march will amplify the community's voice as it speaks the 8th utterance of Jesus on the cross. This utterance locates Jesus the Lord back in the community and repudiates injustice, suffering and the lies of politicians. The 8th utterance is about the community saving themselves from manmade misery by uplifting themselves in service of a God who put them on earth not for them to suffer but to enjoy the abundance that He has bestowed upon all those He created. To refuse to take action against injustice is to defy God's will. Would Jesus not have said that, "enough is enough" if he were to see that South African townships are just hell on earth.
Many community organisations have endorsed the march. An invitation is to be sent to both the premier of the Western Cape, Helen Zille and the president of the country, Jacob Zuma.

My fear in this is that Pastor you did not mention a word about God, Gospel,Jesus Christ. Yes the we as Christians we should have a social concern but it must flow from the Gospel not Secular humanistism. When you left out God, Jesus you could be anyone. You could be a polititian or social activist. But you not, you are first a proclaimer of good news therefore our speach must be seseaned with the word of God.
