  • I tried this. Did you have any trouble with the consistency of the finished product? Mine kind of wanted to fall apart without any fatty stuff to hold them together. They taste great, but don't seem to be as dense.

    The only thing I did differently (perhaps this was my problem) was use actual espresso shots instead of ground beans. I was worried they might taste gritty. Do the chocolate chunks offset that, or is the grind fine enough to keep it from being an issue.

  • You can omit or use half the amount of finely ground espresso beans if you want, but adding espresso shots is adding more liquid, which will in turn will affect the consistency of the brownie. They should be nice and fudgey. Better luck next time ;)
