Cleaned tank makes Lurker happy. She's my breeder, I've had two successful clutches from her so far, should get another one sometime around Christmas!

I really need to put some music to this as well.
www.axolotl.org has a ton of info on axolotls! Enjoy!

This was taken on the Motorola Droid.

  • Where did you get this Axolotls from?

  • @Sh3lbiieebabex Got her way back in high school. For my biology class we raised 4 axies from their embryos, I had this wild, 1 albino and 1 black, the other albino never hatched =[.

  • Beautiful video!! How do you clean this tank with sand? I mean extrements for example :)

  • @gwethelyn scoop out the turds when you notice them, then replace ~1/3 of the total water every week with new water. when I needed to 100% clean the tank i usually would replace the sand.

  • @NERV775 That should be good to start with, lurker is just short of a foot long, so she eat's a lot. If yours looks overly full, or if you see it's ribs often, adjust your feeding accordingly, just be careful not to overfeed them, since they don't feel fullness, they eat whenever possible, and will puke if they over eat/

this spoils the water, and you'll have to change it (which is a pain)

  • I'm very interested in getting an axolotl and I'd like to know if there easy to take care of thanks :)

  • Oh what a pretty baby. uvu

  • How beautiful!

  • @RBRoAB Thanks for the reply!

  • @Gusious7 Definitely. You may find some timed feeders or cubes that release food over a time span, but I have never had luck with them. If possible, find someone who can at least check in and feed if possible. But if you really don't have that option, I think they make electrical feeders that release certain types of food each time period.
