is the pc required to be powered on to record a scheduled recorded show or series?

@InsaneTux Your computer must be turned on or in Standby, Away, or Hibernate mode to successfully record a show.

@ishbox360 If you want to record live tv you'll definitely need a TV tuner to capture the signal.
