  • Hi so I really liked this video I am in a foundations of democracy class and I hate hate history which most girls do but anyway I was just wondering where u got so much information cause I am kinda having trouble finding it and I have a four page paper to write on this

  • @kanelandknight14 There are two books you NEED to get: The battle of Brooklyn by John Gallagher and The Battle For New York by Barnet Schecter. They both will have all the info you need. Also, The Maryland 400 In The Battle Of Long Island, 1776 by Linda Davis Reno is an amazing book! Good luck!

  • at 610 wer r u in brooklyn?pllllz answer...

  • at 6:10 I was infront of a plaque in a promenade at the end of Montague Street in downtown Brooklyn.

  • Has anyone read "The Battle For New York" by Barnett Schnecter? It covers the battle in Brooklyn very well. The author lectures at Fraunces Tavern from time to time.

  • I used that book as a source for my 13 page paper on the battle. I also met Barnett Schnecter at one of his lectures NYC Town Hall. He signed my copy of his book and I gave him a copy of this video. We had a interesting conversation in the elevator.

  • "show you many places, that were the site of important..."

  • I enjoyed it. Am new to many interesting NY revolutionary war stories. Would add that I would now like to attend one of Mr. Schnecter's lectures at this tavern.

  • General Alexander, known as Lord Stirling Although the House of Lords rejected his claim to succeed as the 6th earl of Stirling, in America he was generally considered a nobleman. He served in the French and Indian Wars and joined the Continental Army early in the Revolution. he was captured after He Led the 250 Patriot 5 Charges by the British. After being freed in a prisoner exchange, he saw action at Trenton, Brandywine, Germantown, and Monmouth. In 1778 he helped to expose the Conway Cabal
