@RetroToledo shows, toys, you name it. i'm kind of thinking that even darth vader was a rip off of baron karza now .. the microman/diaclone stuff was around sometime 1969 or a year or two later, that sure predates star wars. to clarify, perhaps mr. lucas liked the image, the rest was his own, i guess. although star wars does follow the japanese spaghetti western style story too.

All the good stuff from Voltron onward was done by Japanese animations studios, yes. But the good versions were the American ones. Now, the adult-style anime - for example, Masamune Shirow's stuff, not to mention Akira - was the best, overall.

little tip to whomever made the title, these things existed BEFORE voltron. so voltron is actually styled after THEM, not the other way around. and if you don't like comments like these thats your own fault for not knowing history. if so, you're probably one of those people who think transformers are american made.
