Hi! My attempt at some of my favourite tunes (Slide and three reels. Ok the last one is actually a fling) on fiddle (tuned down) and C whistle. Sorry for all the out-of-tune notes. And yes, the audio sucks.

  • Lovely! There is nothing like Irish music.

  • I really love your talent, so this is friendly criticism. I feel like you're missing something. You're very good technically and I think no one would dispute that, but emotionally you're just not there. I mean literally, you seem to be somewhere else and you look very bored. There was one point where you had a look on your face that said "I'd rather be anywhere but here doing this." I know you love this music but your emotion doesn't show it. You're performance would improve if you had energy!

  • wow you are quite good! :D

  • @FlooingMolly if your saying he looks bored then this accusation would hold many of the greats guilty as well. in fact i cant think of one i wathc on YT that doesnt hold that bored expression.

  • Hey, I'm gonna have a go at learning that first tune. That's the best compliment a musician can pay in my book. The first Youtube tune in my repertoire! :) Hopefully to play at our fab Glastonbury session (The Riflemans Pub) tomorrow ...! Thank you ..

  • Don't listen to all this "friendly criticism" boss. You've got serious talent, your intonation is perfect and the gliss is spot on. I've got a friend in Juliard who plays the cello (meaning he beat out about 400 cellists to get the spot), and he looks like he's getting jabbed in the gut when he plays. Facial expressions have got nothing to do with ability.

  • @FlooingMolly I think it's because he's not comfortable on fiddle yet, he's new to it. He's concentrating instead of feeling it. Watch him on ANYTHING wind - much emotion. I'm sure his fiddle will be there if he keeps it up. I used to think his brother was pretty lame at guitar, and now I realise he hasn't warmed up to celtic yet.

  • You are wonderfully talented on both whistle and fiddle!

  • love it!

  • Impressive, for being a fiddle player since a short time.

  • Its fun to watch you flourish. Much improved on fiddle. Hats off...you are a true musician.
