Video card for sale, the same used in this setup. Auction ends Sep. 11th at 2pm at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300149384519&...

I had a 17" monitor and that was just not enough. So, I put an old 20" TV in there (need RF modulator and a video card that has "S" video on it), and what a difference! The TV really brings the retro look into the classic games. Also, with the older 3D graphic games, the sprite edges aren't pixelated, but smooth because the games was designed to be viewed by a TV monitor.

  • we're trying to hook a tv to computer for emulator use.but we cant find a VGA to RCA cable

  • Use a video card that has s-video.

  • are you using gameex? what do you think of it now that you've had it running for months?

  • I like it. There are several different themes you can download and choose from to compliment your arcade's style. Good amount of support too.

  • can you make a tutorial on installing the tv to the computer

  • We'll do.

  • @TheVintageGamer Because a Tv is basically an arcade monitor, you will get the smoot colourfull graphics from an arcade monitor. A pc screen is too sharp and run at the wrong refresh rate..

So a crt Tv is an great way of adding arcade realism to your mame cabinet..

Highly recomended, I did that a few days ago and wow. What a huge difference

  • go to newegg (.) com but keep in mind, not all video cards support it. VGA to RCA get low ratings because people don't realize that only a handful of cards will work. I suggest picking up a cheap video card with TV out from ebay. I got one for around $10 including shipping and it works great for all my emulators. Actually building a MAME cabinet now for my 27" TV using that card with an older PC.

  • did you usted soft15hz ? how does it look with a tv?

  • I tried hooking up an old tv using the RF modulator and it looked like shit. so i just ended up getting a tv that already had s video built in it.

  • why tv? you can go to any surplus store and pick up a 27 inch computer monitor for 5 bucks, the old style anyways

  • how do you get full screen on your tv. I get bars on the sides and on top and below of my screen when i use s-video cable. please help me out!!!!!!!

  • the monitor looks big for 20", mine is 27" and it looks about that size
