Born in New England and raised in North Carolina, Kate Taylor's dual musical heritage is one she shares with brothers James, Livingston, Hugh, and her late brother Alex. In this episode of "The Vineyard Scene", Kate talks about spending summers on the island as a child, and brings us back to the Vineyard of the 60s and 70s with stories about the music scene past and present, and about setting up a life on the island.
Dear Kate,
In my 20's I sold a stereo to your mom (from Tweeter Etc. in Boston) and in exchange for installing it she said she's make her homemade clam chowda. I caught the last ferry in a blizzard (in a French Renault) and stayed up late looking at family pics, talking and enjoying red wine while we talked about trying to save the world.
One of the best times in my life.
Does she still have Joni's seashells next to that guest bed?
I love the singing Taylor family!
Best,
EAD
