I was going through a rough time so I recorded 15 tracks as my getaway, in 3 days. Myself on camera, production, cubase handling...and no metronome, count in nor monitoring at all. They're all first (with a few exceptions) and entire takes. I couldn't get any of the MIDIs I had prepared into the mix, so my playing messes up with the original...hope you enjoy anyway!

Planet X, a seven track, with the busy left foot hi hat pattern. As my hats weren't too high in the mix I played snare ghosts at unison to make it clear. Again, the challenge was matching Virgil's strokes. This tune is awesome!

  • You deserve every single encouraging comment you receive for your efforts. You know better than anyone how difficult to play along with V.D. but you hung in there & did OK. I give you a great big thumbs up for having the moxie to put your skin in the game. Play that funky music, white boy.

  • damn man NICE job behind the kit. I can't even figure out what's going on the piece let alone try to play it! props for them chops!
