I love my Extra 260, but I must admit I'm a bit disappointed. It doesn't make sense to me why the motor mounting plate must be made so weak in the apparent attempt to save a miniscule amount of weight. Just over 100 flights on it without any crashes and the motor box fails. I would understand it if I was doing tumbles or knife edge spins, but it's quite clear I was not pushing the airframe to anywhere near it's limits when it failed. To be fair, I was using a different motor than recommended, but still... it should be much stronger IMO.

  • I have a katana md and was worried about strengh around the motor mount area...I did epoxy the teflon sheet behind the mounting plate...had you done the same?

  • Lol you held your composure fairly well. I would have freaked out.
